Abstract
The wave energy source is not new and exists in nature. Wave energy can be considered a form of solar energy. This is because different areas of earth receive different amounts of solar energy in the form of heat. The uneven temperatures create wind whose speed depends on the temperature. Wind speed is the main reason for waves. With increasing interest in renewable energy, Ocean Engineering is evolving as an emerging area to harness wave energy of the ocean. However, Power Electronics is an integral part of renewable energy including wave energy. There are number of waver energy installations around the world.
