Migraine is a primary headache, and it is considered among the most common neurological diseases. Magnesium is the fourth most abundant cation in the body. It acts as a cofactor for more than 300 enzymatic reactions. A number of mechanisms have been described to explain the relationship between magnesium deficiency and migraine.
