Abstract

This chapter will explore various routes of insulin delivery systems for the treatment of type 1 and type 2 diabetes (T1D and T2D, respectively). Traditionally, the most common form of insulin delivery is by administration with a syringe or a pen. Recent advancements in diabetes administration technologies have rapidly enhanced the systems of insulin delivery, and delivery devices have expanded to include insulin inhalation cartridges, pumps, and automated insulin delivery systems.
