Abstract

Air contaminations from different industries cause harm to environment and human well-being. Therefore these days, government organizations are progressively embracing various advancements to control air outflows by implementing environmental laws. Physicochemical and biological methods such as adsorption, scrubbing, condensation, biofilters, bio scrubbers, and biotrickling filters have conventionally treated industrial waste gases. The aptness and execution of physicochemical and biological methods for treating a wide range of organic and inorganic compounds have been demonstrated at the pilot level, and their implementation and application at the mechanized level is currently growing exponentially. This chapter reviews the different types of techniques and sorbents used to control air pollution.
