Abstract
Cholera is an acute secretory diarrhea caused by infection with Vibrio cholera of the O1 or O139 serogroup. Transmission occurs through direct fecal-oral transmission of contaminated water or food. Usual incubation period is 2–5days. Treatment of cholera requires prompt and adequate fluid and electrolyte replacement.
