Abstract

This chapter introduces the devices for melt electrospinning. By evaluation of nanoscience and technology, continuous fabrication of nanofibers has been achieved by rapid growth in electrospinning technology. This chapter explains the types of melt electrospinning devices which are self-designed by various researchers for versatile and low-cost production of fibers. The working principle for each device is addressed in an elegant way with references for better understanding for readers. Melt electrospinning devices eliminate the major obstacles in solution electrospinning devices, such as use of solvent and melting of high-temperature polymers. In conclusion, we discuss the limitations of melt electrospinning devices and their future prospects for large-scale production of nanofibers.
