Abstract

Surgical instruments are an important part of any surgery. Each instrument is designed and built for a specific use. The pain procedures are becoming increasingly more invasive and complex and require pain physicians to be more familiar with surgical instruments. There are some basic rules and etiquettes of handling instruments in the operating room (OR). This knowledge will save time in the OR and will improve surgical technique. This chapter reviews basic surgical instruments commonly used in interventional pain procedures.
