Chapter 2 - Recent Progress in Single-Cell Sequencing

Abstract

Single-cell omics has progressed tremendously in the past few years with the advancement in technologies and resources. Single-cell genomics, single-cell transcriptomics, and single-cell epigenomics have the most applicability for understanding various mechanisms of complex biology, including plants and animals. A number of challenges still need to be overcome for better applicability. This chapter is a brief overview of the recent progress in the field of single-cell omics, and further details will be provided in subsequent chapters of this book.
