Abstract
The organizational structure must support the efficient and effective implementation of an investment strategy. This chapter reviews key considerations in the organizational structure and organizational practices and policies for student-managed investment funds. Student-managed investment funds face particular challenges in personnel availability, selection, and turnover. Strategies for addressing these challenges can vary depending on whether the fund is structured as a course or a volunteer organization. Other organizational considerations covered in this chapter include policies for handling semester breaks and the selection of the fund’s investment vehicle.
