Abstract

This chapter walks the aspiring open source examiner through the process of building a development workstation. Being able to build software properly is critical for an examiner using open source tools. Additionally, we discuss the installation of Cygwin , a Linux-like environment for Windows, which should enable use of the bulk of the open source software discussed throughout the book to be used without modification on Windows systems.
