Abstract

The geological model includes the geological structure and distribution of rock properties. The geological model is considered a static model because it is based on data that are constant, or almost constant, during the life of the reservoir. For example, the structure and distribution of rock properties are not expected to change significantly over time. By contrast, the number, placement, and operation of wells, and the distribution of saturations and pressures are considered dynamic factors because they are expected to change over time.
