Abstract
Research on fine reservoir description for the needs of oilfield development in the early stages vis-à-vis the middle stages shows wide differences in contents. The content of fine reservoir description research undertaken for the early stages of oilfield development mainly focuses on the comprehensiveness of the research, requiring researchers to have a comprehensive understanding of the characteristics of reservoir structure, reservoir, and fluid, but there is none the too much requirement for an in-depth study. For research undertaken for oilfields in the middle and late stages of development, the study of fine reservoir description focuses on the solution of key problems in oilfield development events, emphasizing an in-depth study to be done. To carry out fine reservoir description research, it is necessary to set targeted research contents according to different development stages of reservoirs.
