Abstract
Patient Group Directions are documents which make it legal for medicines to be given to groups of patients – for example in a mass casualty situation – without individual prescriptions having to be written for each patient. They have been altered and extended since their introduction and can now be applied in many situations. The rules for their use are set out in this chapter.
