Abstract

Continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) is a form of dialysis that is often used in the intensive care units. CRRT can be used to correct various metabolic derangements that develop in critically ill patients who are hemodynamically unstable and unsuitable for traditional hemodialysis. In this chapter, we will discuss the different modalities of CRRT, common indications, complications which arise, and certain medication considerations.
