Abstract

Diagnostic tests and tools help the recognition and essence of disease. It is therefore critical that the diagnosis is correct, for this is the basis of care and treatment. A clear diagnosis allows patient care to be improved, contributes positively to healthcare costs, and encourages health workers to take the steps necessary. Patient surveillance is also important to avoid further deterioration of the patient’s condition. The measures needed are taken if the condition deteriorates and is alerted by a continuous monitoring program. The measures taken to treat a patient are incredibly useful after effective diagnosis and regular monitoring. So, in medical devices, the three prime factors are early diagnosis, constant monitoring, and finally, cure of the patients through appropriate treatment. Thus, this chapter provides a comprehensive overview of the medical devices that are responsible to diagnose, monitor, and treat several common diseases. The use of artificial intelligence, the internet of things, and app-based detection and monitoring techniques have proved beneficial to support the medical team for the timely cure of the patients. With the global pandemic engulfing the world, this modern technique of diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment can deliver good enough support for the medical community, so maximum causalities may be avoided.
