Abstract

This chapter aims to introduce commonly used techniques to analyze, modify, and synthesize volumetric videos. With a variety of 3D sensors, there are many types of volumetric videos, leading to distinct manners to process those 3D data. Here we specifically focus on processing depth images and 3D point clouds. For each of these two types, we go through state-of-the art processing methods to handle a few typical tasks, including restoration, object detection, and semantic segmentation.
