Abstract
Digital transformation is becoming a trend in the Indian healthcare sector. The healthcare sector in India has expanded in the last decade across both patient care as well as hospital services. The sector has invested in digital technologies such as social media platforms to associate with patients and develop relationships as well as in cloud platforms to perpetuate and keep track of health records and insurance transactions. The healthcare sector in India is starting to use analytics more rigorously for clinical and nonclinical data. Computerization solutions are still in the proof-of-concept stage and are mostly used in operations and other support functions but not instantaneously in medical functions. This chapter deals in detail with the foundation for the digital transformation, the need, the role of technology, the digital revolution, emerging trends, opportunities and challenges, future trends in healthcare digital transformation, and the like. This study would be a prototype to all the other upcoming studies in the aforementioned areas.
