Abstract
This chapter introduces a new novelty for automatic detection of oil spills from polarimetric SAR images. To these ends, multipolarimetric SAR data have been used throughout this chapter, such as UAVSAR, quad-pol mode on RADARSAT-2, TerraSAR-X strip map (HH/VV), and Sentinel-1A data. Quantum Immune Fast Spectral Clustering (QIFSC) algorithm is used with different polarimetric SAR images for automatic detection of oil spills. It is clear that the QIFSC algorithm can turn oil spill segmentation into different clusters such as thick to thin slicks.
