Abstract

Reservoir simulators can be used to model fluid flow in systems with fractures. Fractures can be present in a system as natural fractures and induced fractures. In this chapter we consider naturally fractured reservoirs and shale reservoirs with fractures induced by hydraulic fracturing. Applications of IFLO to a line-drive waterflood in a naturally fractured reservoir, throughput in a naturally fractured reservoir model, production from a shale gas model, and production from a shale oil model are described.
