Abstract

Dynamic, on-demand transport modes have rapidly developed over the last few decades. Their current scope stretches from classical taxi systems, via ride-hailing and ride-sharing systems, to free-floating car-sharing systems. In future, a growing sharing-economy and improved autonomous driving capabilities may help demand-responsive transport to become a dominating means of transport both in urban and rural areas.
