Abstract

In the past, almost all commercial music was mixed by a professional recording engineer under the supervision of a producer and/or artist. With the emergence of electronic music and the project studio revolution, the vast majority of production facilities have become much more personal and cost effective in nature. And with the maturation of the digital revolution, MIDI and digital audio workspaces are now being owned by individuals, small businesses, and artists who are taking the time to become experienced in the commonsense rules of creative and commercial mixing.
