Abstract

Relatively little attention had been given to small business in the study of Information Technology (IT) and organisational change in the 1970s and 1980s. The reason was simple: small businesses did not have complex organisational structures and therefore required little IT support for its internal functions as compared to large corporations. Also, small businesses usually did not have the necessary resources to invest in IT and consequently, their IT systems were simplistic and uninteresting. The Personal Computer (PC) revolution and the era of the Internet have changed this situation considerably.KeywordsSupply ChainBusiness ProcessSmall BusinessSmall FirmLarge CorporationThese keywords were added by machine and not by the authors.
