Abstract

It is common sense that look of the skin generally reflects good health and human robustness. This is why cosmetic industries are concerned with the elegance of the finish product, the main obligation to be purchased the appearance of the formulation itself, and cosmetic application, for which the product is fabricated. Because of their nanosize and pearl-like nature, cosmetic lipid nanocarriers play an important role in the cosmetic industry. The features discussed in this chapter for cosmetic lipid nanocarriers include stability of the integrated substances, loading capacity, controlled/triggered release, occlusivity, film formation, and penetration through the skin. The technology for fabrication; issues concern production, including large and small scale production; regulatory aspects; status of the excipients and proof physical and chemical stability are described.
