Abstract
As one of the most important information gateways inside an academic institution, the website of an academic library has been evolving into a web service platform. Consequently, academic libraries need to enhance and integrate their resources and web services to improve excellence in teaching and learning. Specific cutting-edge and emerging technologies in web design and development are discussed in this chapter to reflect a rapid shift both in computing devices and user demands. Also discussed are open source web content management software used to generate creation and innovation in academic library settings.
