Abstract
Nanotechnology, with its benefits and risks, is here to stay simply because nanoparticles are rapidly becoming an integral part of modern society. Nanoparticles can be found in medicine, food, cosmetics, clothing, water purification, and electronic devices, among others. Therefore, there is an urgent need for a partnership between the public, industry, and government to develop strategies for the safe use of this technology. The aim of this chapter is to discuss some of the relevant issues.
