Abstract

Nano drug delivery system is a well-defined strategy for cancer therapy. The basic features of delivery system are the encapsulation of insoluble chemotherapeutic cargo, increased circulation time in body, and reasonable accumulation of drug at the target site. Recently stimuli-responsive nano drug delivery systems have gained popularity due to the additional feature of controlling drug release on command (external) or based on cancer environment (internal). In this chapter, we have provided an overview of various kinds of external (photothermal, photodynamic, magnetic, and ultrasound) and internal (pH, Redox, Enzyme, ROS) stimuli-responsive nanoparticle drug delivery systems and future perspective.
