Abstract

Textile macrostructures, being woven, knitted or nonwoven, are used in a broad spectrum of applications: from clothing to technical textiles, electronic textiles, and composite materials. In most of the cases, textiles are composed of yarns, which form their mesostructures. The yarns made of fibers or filaments can be subject of different bending forces, extreme load, or dynamic elongation stress. Thus the failure of the yarns can influence the reliability of the textile macrostructures.
