Abstract
Lichens are a symbiotic relationship between algae and fungi in the association with bacteria and actinobacteria, cyanobacteria. Lichens can be occurring on trees, rocks, and soil. Various bacteria, actinobacteria, and cyanobacteria groups impact the symbiotic relationship of lichen establishment in trees, rocks, and soil. The lichen-associated bacterial communities are also responsible for symbiotic functional role of lichen. The lichen-associated microbial symbionts were differing species across different species and geographical locations. The endolichenic actinobacteria were more associated with crustose, fruticose, and foliose lichens. The associated endolichenic actinobacteria were explored by culture-dependent and culture-independent methods.
