Abstract
A brief overview of pipeline engineering is presented in this chapter. Following a short historical note, some landmark projects for onshore and offshore pipelines are presented, and the main principles of pipeline design are introduced. Subsequently, the main features of onshore and offshore pipeline construction are outlined.
