Abstract

The laboratories in academic and industrial settings are inherently dangerous to humans, animals, and the environment. However, harm or injury is neither tolerable nor inevitable. Teachers, researchers, and students should all follow safety procedures to reduce exposure to dangerous and unhealthy conditions while on the job sites. Industrial organizations and educational sectors should follow essential safety protocols. The safety protocols should be appropriate to avoid harmful effects of all synthetic and natural chemicals and provide protection from exposure to chemicals in the environment extraction, synthesis, industrial production, transportation, and disposal. Research and industrial organizations dealing with chemicals should have a safety policy to provide protection to its co-workers. The basic purpose of the safety policy is to make the workers aware of possible hazards that may be encountered in the chemical laboratory, to provide information about safety precautions in case of any accident, and to reduce exposure to hazardous chemicals. The safety policy provides guidelines for the implementation of necessary measures in protecting all people working in the laboratories from common hazards found in the laboratory.
