Abstract

Graphene is a unique one atom thick two-dimensional nanocarbon nanostructure. Graphene possesses remarkable features including transparency, electronic transport, thermal conductivity, mechanical characteristics, and other exclusive properties. It has been developed using various distinguished and facile top-down and bottom-up approaches. In this regard, the graphene production on the large scale is desirable for the high-performance materials and uses. Moreover, the graphene modification is essential to enhance the graphene properties and solicitations. Graphene oxide is an important modified form of graphene. Graphene and graphene oxide have gained enormous interest for the myriad of engineering and industrial applications. This chapter essentially presents an attempt to summarize and document the structure, properties, synthesis, modification, and advancements in the field of graphene nanostructure.
