Abstract
With the acceleration of globalisation, the field of education is gradually becoming multicultural, especially in schools where the number of students from different cultural backgrounds is increasing. Multicultural education aims to promote understanding and respect among different cultures, and therefore the requirements for teachers' roles have changed significantly. In this context, teachers not only need to impart knowledge, but also need to be guides, mediators and facilitators of learning about cultural diversity. This paper discusses the change of teachers' roles in the context of multicultural education, analyses how teachers can adapt to this change, enhance the effectiveness of education, and promote the overall development of students, and puts forward suggestions on teacher training and curriculum design to better adapt to the needs of multicultural education.
