Abstract

Causes of testicular or scrotal swelling include hernias, hydroceles, varicoceles, testicular torsion, and testicular tumors. Although testicular tumors make up 1%–2% of all cancers in men, they are the most common malignancy in men aged between 15 and 44 years and account for about 10% of cancer deaths in this cohort. Thus, there should be a very strong suspicion of a testicular tumor in any young adult presenting with a painless testicular or scrotal swelling.
