Abstract CARPENTER C-XB is a hardenable high-carbon high-silicon high-chromium stainless steel offering good high-temperature strength and corrosion resistance to combustion products of automotive gas engines. It is also available in aircraft quality. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on high temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, joining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: SS-268.
