Abstract

Purpose: Coronary artery calcium score (CACS) and carotid artery intima-media thickness (CIMT) are surrogate markers of atherosclerosis. While CACS is well-established in indicating the extent of coronary artery disease (CAD), CIMT's diagnostic role in CAD remains controversial.
