Abstract

Carbon-based nanomaterials and nanocomposites have received significant attention for their remarkable properties and multi-functionality. As the world advances, the urgency of energy conservation surpasses that of previous times. The finite nature of fuel resources is becoming increasingly apparent; as a result, researchers are making an effort to find new solutions to make more efficient, environmentally friendly energy and biomedical devices. In this regard, carbon-based nanomaterials and nanocomposites can play a significant role. Carbon-based nanomaterials can vary by their dimensions, structure, shape, and sizes. Carbon-based 2D and 3D nanomaterials and nanocomposites have wide applications relating to catalysis, energy (conversion/storage), sensors, separation/adsorption, and environmental and biomedical applications. This study gives insights into carbon-based 2D and 3D nanomaterials and nanocomposites for promoting their advanced applications in numerous fields.
