Abstract
This chapter offers a comprehensive overview of classical control methods utilized in actively controlling satellites, including discussions on the models and specialized sensors and actuators typically used for satellite control. It also delves into advanced control problems related to underactuation and constraints. Additionally, recent probabilistic approaches to validating control laws are discussed, providing a complement to traditional Monte Carlo simulations. A discussion on satellite control challenges that need to be solved to enable future space flight missions is also included.
