Abstract

The urban space includes the public-private dimension, as well as the physical characteristics of infrastructure, use and occupation, height gauge and state of conservation of buildings, which are notable aspects for the quality and social dynamics of cities. The central quadrilateral of Presidente Prudente - SP, surrounded by four (4) important streets, is an area that tells the history of the city, but currently presents uses and occupations considered marginalized, such as prostitution, street dwellers and drug users . Therefore, the objective of this work is to analyze and understand how the urban configuration of the central quadrilateral causes these types of uses and occupations.
