Abstract

Uncertainties in the nuclear interaction for A ≥ 1600 superheavy nuclei preclude absolute theoretical predictions of nuclear properties including single-particle energies, half-lives and Q-values. However, a model potential can be developed to predict trends in these properties and suggest islands of stability in A ≥ 1600 nuclei. The Rost-1600 interaction is derived from the Rost interaction by increasing its potential strength by 15%. This interaction will be used in subsequent studies of A ≥ 1600 nuclei.
