Abstract
Abstract Six insecticides and 2 application timings were tested for control. Plots were located on the Research and Education Center in Princeton, KY. Plots were 6 × 15 ft consisting of five 10.5 inch rows, arranged in a randomized complete block design and planted using standard agricultural practices. Foliar insecticides were applied using a C02-powered plot sprayer at the equivalent of 23 gal finished spray per acre. All plots (except unsprayed check) were treated on 7 May and one-half the plots were re-treated on 24 May. Pod damage was determined by randomized examination for CSPW exit holes, 100 pods/plot/wk for 5 wks after preliminary sampling indicated that CSPW emergence had begun. The greatest percent damage/plot was used in the analysis. Data were collected and are presented as percent damaged pods; however, analysis (SAS Proc GLM; P - 0.05) was conducted using Arcsine transformed data.
