Abstract

Abstract ‘Bravo’ cabbage was transplanted on 31 Jul near Georgetown, DE. Two row plots, 20 ft long on 30-inch centers were replicated 4 times in a randomized complete block design. Treatments were applied with a bicycle design, C02 pressurized sprayer with a drop nozzle on either side of the row and 1 centered over the row calibrated to deliver 59 gal/acre at 40 psi. Treatments were applied on 14, 21, and 27 Aug; 4, 12, 18 and 25 Sep; and 2 Oct. Number of larvae per 10 plants was recorded on 2 Oct. Foliage injury ratings ranged from 1-5 and were indexed as follows; 1) 0-3% damage; 2) 4-10% damaged; 3) 11-25% damaged; 4) 26-50% damaged; and 5) 51-100% damage. Yields (percent marketable heads) were taken on 8 Oct and defined as cabbage heads with no visible feeding and having at least 2 undamaged wrapper leaves.
