Abstract

The article brings to external semantic-syntactic correlation’s all-embracing research. Such a correlation tends to be a relation between prepositional-substantive structures, constituted by primary and derived temporal prepositions. Core attention was paid to the 2 main aspects; they are, on the one side, the formal structure of temporal prepositional-case constructions, taking certainly into consideration the origin of prepositions as analyzed models’ constituents, and the whole spectrum of semantic nuances, produced by primary / derived prepositions, on the other side. It was ascertained derived prepositions explicate such semantic nuances much more precisely compared to primary units because of their monosemantic nature. The profound analysis of prepositional-substantive paradigms of correlatives with undefined time sequence, valid in modern Ukrainian, was logically accomplished. Characteristic features of correlative temporatives’ with primary / derived prepositions were differentiated in succession. It was proved primary / derived prepositions cause the appearance of characteristic features in semantic and functional spheres of temporal prepositional-substantive structures, forming the base of external correlative connections of the latter. The fact temporatives, which are correlative two- and three-component paradigms’ constituents, realize undefined post-time semantics was finally clarified. It was stated for certain specific semantic nuances as well as stylistic marking and sphere of usage are to be fundamental peculiarities that open the further perspective of such the correlation of prepositional-substantive constructions with primary / derived temporal prepositions. The prepositional-substantive combinations constitute semantic-syntactic and formal grammatical structures’ dialectic integrity likewise other syntactic units. The variety of correlatives strictly depends on their semantic nature. The correlation regulates interconnections of the form and the content of prepositional-substantive constructions, illustrating the complicated law of mutual concord between the correlatives’ paradigms’ constituents.
