Abstract

Butyl acrylate (141-32-2) is a colorless liquid with a strong, fruity odor that can be detected (0.035ppm in air) at levels~60-fold lower than accepted Occupational Exposure Limits (OELs). The primary human health concern is irritation of the eyes, skin, and respiratory tract as well as dermal sensitization that may exhibit cross reactivity with other acrylate esters.
