Abstract
The British Society of Gastroenterology Nurses Association (BSGNA) Award recognises individuals or teams who have made a demonstrable positive impact on patient care. Successful applicants receive free registration for the BSG Annual Conference and a £250 award. The 2019 award ceremony took place at the joint medical and nursing plenary session at the BSG Conference in Glasgow. The 2019 BSGNA Award was awarded to Hayley Leyland, nutrition nurse at Freeman Hospital in Newcastle Upon Tyne, who describes her work below.
