Abstract

The development of efficient, robust, broadband, and coherent Terahertz (THz) sources is constantly pushing the frontier of THz sciences and technologies, enabling new THz related research and application, especially within the new categories of nonlinear phenomena that require ultra-intense THz radiations. Aside from discussing THz-matter interactions and different THz applications, it is important to introduce how THz waves are generated. This article focuses on broadband THz pulse generations that involve many different ultrafast optical methods.
