Abstract

Opinions about alcohol intoxication and impairment are often invalid when based on blood alcohol concentration (BAC) or breath alcohol concentration (BrAC), particularly when BAC is converted from BrAC. This paper discusses serious problems in measuring alcohol concentrahon that substance abuse counselors should consider when formulating opinions using BAC or BrAC.
