Abstract

Uveitis, is the term used to describe inflammation of the uveal tract, i.e. iris, ciliary body, choroid. Birdshot uveitis is a chronic posterior uveitis which is an inflammatory, autoimmune disease. It tends to affect both eyes which may not happen initially but over a few years it normally does. It is sight threatening if left untreated. It involves choroid and retinal vessels and optic disc. This article will provide an overview of birdshot uveitis, its clinical features and treatment.
