Abstract
Early detection of health abnormalities is important for humans to live a full and healthy life span. The human body emits a variety of volatile organic compounds (H-VOCs). These H-VOCs are useful for the simple determination of health status in real-time and in situ. This chapter endeavors to elucidate the methodologies and sensor technologies germane to facile H-VOC quantification. We shall also expound upon our biofluorescent gas sensors and gas imaging systems, which employ enzymatic constituents as the discerning elements for H-VOCs recognition. Then, we expound upon the prospective utility of biofluorescence in the realm of H-VOC sensing and concurrently deliberate on the forthcoming challenges.
