Abstract
ABSTRACT The article deals with the symbolic political negotiations in Lithuania. Dealing with soviet cultural heritage like museums and monuments, the article discusses the development of identity politics in independent Lithuania. There are two topics, which became referential points for the politics of remembrance and education in Lithuania: Memory of the victims of Stalinism and memory of the Holocaust victims. The article will argue how the transformation of the museum and memorial landscape is connected with the identity politics of the transformation time.
