Abstract

Beta decay half lives have been calculated microscopically for ∼6000 nuclei with Z=6–114 between the line of beta stability and the neutron drip line, with an accuracy considerably improved over earlier predictions. The calculated half lives are of particular importance for astrophysical applications.
